The Women’s Imaging Center opened on October 15, 2009, following a $1.275 million fundraising campaign. The project was funded 100% through the generosity of area individuals and businesses.
The facility features Ludington’s first digital mammography, plus advanced digital technology for bone density, breast biopsy and ultrasound testing. The Women’s Imaging Center is a high-tech, yet calming, comforting, spa-like environment.
The all-female staff provides additional privacy and comfort for women patients. Eight women make up the core staff; there are two experienced technologists for mammography, two for bone density, and an ultrasound specialist. They are backed by a three-member support staff.
Each year, the Women’s Imaging Center does approximately 5,500 mammograms, 1,800 bone density tests, and 1,200 ultrasound exams.
The Women's Imaging Center is located on the second floor of the medical office building on the south side of the hospital.
The Women’s Imaging Center offers women a one-stop facility for the most common diagnostic procedures, from breast cancer screening and diagnosis to osteoporosis management to images of their developing babies.
The Women’s Imaging Center is open Monday through Thursday, 7am to 5:30pm.
