Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan understands that hospital bills and billing procedures can sometimes be confusing. That is why we have designated financial counselors available to assist you in handling the financial aspects of your hospital stay. We want to ensure that any questions or concerns are appropriately addressed.
Memorial Medical Center will bill your insurance company for you, but in order to do so an "Assignment of Benefits" statement must be signed by the appropriate person. Patients with insurance will be required to pay any difference not covered by the insurance. Any disputes by the insurance company over charges or services performed are the patient's responsibility. Over-payments of accounts caused by two or more insurance companies will be resolved through the advice of the insurance companies.
In order to make the billing process easier, please remember that it is the patient's or family member's responsibility to notify your insurance company of your admission to Memorial Medical Center. Pre-admission approval is required by many insurance companies, so please check your policy.
Patients without insurance or any patient with financial questions may contact a Financial Counselor at 231-845-2310 or visit the Patient Collections office. The Patient Collections office is located across from admitting on the main level of Memorial Medical Center and is open Monday - Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
Patients may pay their bills online using Visa or MasterCard by logging on to
www.mmcwm.com/billpay.
Note: If you receive services from an Emergency Department physician, radiologist, or anesthesiologist, you will receive a separate bill from them for their services, in addition to your hospital bill. These professional services are provided and billed separately from the services of Memorial Medical Center, by independent physicians that are not employed by Memorial Medical Center. Questions concerning these bills should be directed to the billing service indicated on your statement.
