Partners in Children's Health
Memorial Medical Center is one of about 30 hospitals affiliated with the Helen Devos Children's Hospital as part of
its Partners in Children's Health collaborative. The alliance is designed to enhance healthcare for children throughout the state. The partnership provides opportunities to cooperate on quality initiatives, clinical outreach, and continuing medical education for physicians, nurses and other clinical staff working with children in our West Michigan service area.
Spectrum Health Regional Hospital Network
Memorial Medical Center participates with 12 independent community hospitals and 9 Spectrum Health hospitals in the Spectrum Health Regional Hospital Network. This collaborative is dedicated to improving the health status of the people of West Michigan through an integrated approach to regional health care delivery. Each year the Network sponsors a Quality Symposium for members, and key quality indicators are regularly reported and shared among the member hospitals. In the first six years of the Network, member hospitals saved over $13-million in medical-surgical, laboratory and surgical supplies. Memorial Medical Center President and CEO, Mark Vipperman, currently serves as chairman of the Network board.
West Michigan Shared Hospital Laundry
One of 26 member owners in a shared laundry non-profit organization, Memorial Medical Center has realized huge savings through a partnership of regional hospitals that truck their laundry to a high-volume facility in Walker, Michigan to be sorted, cleaned, dried, folded and trucked back for reuse.
Road to Recovery

The American Cancer Society and Memorial Medical Center have teamed up to provide the Road to Recovery Program for local residents. This service provides free transportation to and from treatment sites in Muskegon and Grand Rapids for area cancer patients. The Road to Recovery van is kept at Memorial Medical Center and leaves from this central location each weekday. The service has been very highly utilized and appreciated by those who use it.
